Hong Kong ─ Czech Republic
The bilateral relationship between Hong Kong and the Czech Republic is thriving. In 2023, bilateral trade between the two places amounted to about EUR 1.2 billion. Hong Kong also played a significant role in the trade between the Mainland of China and the Czech Republic, with about 3.5% of the trade between the two trading partners routed through Hong Kong, amounting to about EUR 966 million.-

In March 2013, Hong Kong and the Czech Republic signed three bilateral agreements on mutual juridical assistance in criminal matters (MLA), surrender of persons wanted for criminal proceedings (SPW), and transfer of sentenced persons (TSP).
In June 2011, Hong Kong and the Czech Republic signed a comprehensive agreement on the avoidance of double taxation (CDTA). The agreement provided added incentives for companies in the Czech Republic to do business or invest in Hong Kong, and vice versa, as well as further boosted economic and trade ties between the two places.
The strengthening bilateral relationship is also evidenced in reciprocal high-level visits in recent years. In January 2018, Mr Vladimír Dlouhý, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, visited Hong Kong. Mr Marek Libřický, Director of Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Czech Republic, visited Hong Kong in October 2015.
In June 2011, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, visited Prague and signed the CDTA agreement.
