Bilateral trade between the two places amounted to about EUR 163.1 million in 2023. In the same year, EUR 151.4 million worth of goods, or 2.1% of the total trade between the Slovak Republic and the Mainland of China, was routed through Hong Kong.

In 2023, Hong Kong’s main exports to the Slovak Republic were jewellery (83.3%) and special transactions & unclassified commodities (16.7%). Hong Kong’s main imports from the Slovak Republic included passenger motor cars (14.2%), household type, electrical & non-electrical equipment, not elsewhere specified (12.4%) and computers (12.2%).

A series of high-level reciprocal visits between the two places underlines deepening bilateral ties. In January 2018, Mr Peter Kažimír, Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic, visited Hong Kong.

In October 2015, a trade mission organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council visited Bratislava to establish new business contacts and explore new business opportunities.
