EXCHAiNGE Business Conference

High-level business events in Warsaw and Frankfurt

HKETO Berlin was an official co-operation partner of the 2016 EXCHAiNGE, an international business conference for supply chain and operation professionals in Frankfurt. The event took place on 26-27 September 2016 with a special focus on the themes of digitisation, compliance, and supply chain finance, and the challenges from not only managing the flow of materials today, but to make sure the flow of information and capital in tomorrow’s supply chain is going hand in hand as well. Possessing a strong background in industry as well as public service in the areas of export, trade, manpower, logistics, maritime and port, Mr. Willy Lin, Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council and member of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, shared his valuable insights with the 180 economics and science experts attending, into how the modern-day Silk Road will change global supply chains.

Logistics are part of Hong Kong’s DNA. As a springboard to the markets in the Mainland of China and the rest of Asia, Hong Kong is a hub for transporting everything imaginable by land, air and sea. There was all the more reason for HKETO Berlin to organise a business seminar in Warsaw together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the Polish Chamber of Commerce on 5 October 2016. HKETO Berlin invited Mr. Lin as the keynote speaker. He highlighted the immense dimensions and outreach of China’s Belt and Road initiative. Introducing the Belt and Road Initiative and the opportunities it poses for Central and Eastern European businesses, Mr. Lin outlined in particular the infrastructure development for road, rail, air and sea linkages as well as technology and communication, sectors from which Polish companies could benefit. Some 50 professionals from the Polish business sector attended the seminar, appreciating his in-depth analysis of Hong Kong’s unique advantages under the Belt and Road Initiative.
