Hong Kong ─ Slovenia
Hong Kong’s bilateral relationship with Slovenia continues to flourish. Bilateral trade amounted to about EUR 315 million in 2023. In the same year, EUR 106 million worth of goods, or 1% of the total trade between Slovenia and the Mainland of China, was routed through Hong Kong.-

In April 2017, Hong Kong and Slovenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on co-operation in wine-related businesses. The MOU will facilitate co-operation in wine-related trading and investment promotion, education and training, tourism, and prevention of counterfeiting.
High-level governmental and trade visits in recent years underscore deepening ties between the two places. The Chief Executive, Ms Carrie Lam, met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia, Mr Dejan Židan, who visited Hong Kong on the occasion of the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair in November 2017.
The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, visited Slovenia in April 2017 to talk about the unique opportunities and benefits of the Belt and Road Initiative. During his visit, Mr Gregory So met with Mr Zdravko Počivalšek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology and Mr Dejan Zidan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia.
