Zurich Film Festival showcasing talents from Hong Kong

HKETO Berlin has again teamed up with the internationally renowned Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) as a sponsor to bring some of Hong Kong’s latest films to the Swiss audience. Four Hong Kong productions were featured in the dedicated "Window: Hong Kong" section.

This year's "Window: Hong Kong" features a variety of films showcasing talents from Hong Kong: “G Affairs” by Cheuk Pan Lee, “No. 7 Cherry Lane” by Yonfan, “Still Human” by Oliver Siu Kuen Chan, and “Three Husbands” by Fruit Chan. Each film demonstrates different aspects of Hong Kong life, as well as the diverse range of aesthetic perceptions and the technical skills of our Hong Kong film talents.

Director of HKETO Berlin, Mr Bill Li, spoke at one of the Hong Kong screenings on September 28, highlighting the importance of the film industry for Hong Kong's development as a value-added and diversified economy. "We will promote further development of the local film industry, and nurture more talents. We also welcome film production professionals from around the world including Switzerland to work in Hong Kong," he said.

The Hong Kong productions were very well received by the cinemagoers. From September 26 to October 6, the 15th edition of the ZFF attracted a record number of 117,000 visitors from Switzerland and beyond. The festival was also graced by stars including Cate Blanchett, Kristen Stewart, Javier Bardem, Oliver Stone and Roland Emmerich, adding both glamour and artistic value to the event.
